I have spent more than fifteen years in the classroom, across state and private education, and I now lead a sixth form. That means I see, every day, what separates students who reach their target grades from those who fall just short. It is rarely ability. It is usually a handful of shaky foundations, unpractised exam technique and fading confidence.
One-to-one tuition lets me work on exactly those things. I start with a conversation, build a plan around the individual student, and adjust it as they progress. Because I also advise sixth-formers on applications, I can connect what happens in our sessions to where the student wants to go next.
